About the Project:
The Colorado Department of Transportation and contract partner Work Zone Traffic Control will begin a sign replacement project on CO 115 and US Highway 50 January 30. New signs will be installed along CO 115 from Mile Point 13.9 to MP 17.3 in Penrose and on US 50 from MP 316.1 to MP 329.8 between Pueblo and Avondale.
Work will include the removal of 450 worn out signs, installation of approximately 530 new signs, installation of new sign posts and upgrading delineators. The new signs will consist of speed limit, directional, street, mile point, guide, regulatory, and warning signs.
The new signs will be larger, have better reflectivity at night to help motorists navigate the highway safely and increase visibility of route-finding markers to increase drivers familiarity to the location of access points.
Work Schedule & Traffic Impacts
- Motorists should plan for shoulder and single lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project is expected to last through June.
