US 24 Woodland Park Paving and ADA Curb Ramp Improvements

About the Project:

The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Kiewit will begin installing ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) curb ramps in Woodland Park in early April. Resurfacing US 24 between Divide and Chipita Park begins this summer. The anticipated completion date is November 2023.

Construction will begin with the installation of the ADA curb ramps and installation of guardrail along US 24. Later in the summer resurfacing of US 24 will begin. Other improvements include installation of guardrail along US 24, construction of embankment protectors, replacement of two traffic counters and signing/striping along the Highway 24 corridor.

CDOT’s Executive Director Shoshana Lew agrees. “Complying with ADA standards will make certain all members of the community—whether on foot, wheelchair or bicycle—can easily and readily use highway crossings and intersection crosswalks.

Forty-four ADA curb ramps will be installed in Woodland Park at the following locations:

  • US 24 and Lafayette Avenue
  • US 24 and Browning St
