CO 72 Frontage Road to Indiana Street Resurfacing

About the Project:

The Colorado Department of Transportation and Brannan Sand & Gravel will begin resurfacing Colorado Highway 72, between the intersection of I-70 to Indiana St. This portion of CO 72 is Ward Road and along W 64th Avenue.

Work also includes median additions, signal replacement, signal head upgrades, signal detection additions, curb ramp upgrades, guardrail improvements, signing, and striping.

Work Schedule

• Construction will begin in late August 2022 and continue through Spring 2023. 
• Most work will take place Sunday through Thursday night with occasional daytime work during non-peak travel times Monday through Friday.
• Night Work Hours: 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Day Work Hours (as needed): 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Traffic Impacts

• Crews will work on a 3.67 mile stretch of CO 72 beginning at mile point 0.0 at the intersection of CO 72 and I-70 through MP 3.67 at Indiana St.
• Traffic impacts include single lane, turn lane, and temporary sidewalk closures.
• Motorists may encounter occasional flagging operations.
