CO 257 Resurfacing US 34 Business to Walnut Street

About the Project:

The CO 257 Resurfacing project will improve nearly five miles of highway between US 34 Business (Mile Point 5.6) in Greeley and Walnut Street (MP 10.4) in Windsor. Planned bridge repairs at MP 7.6, which is approximately two miles north of US Business 34, will require a temporary 20-day full closure of CO 257. Intersection improvements at Crossroads Boulevard include adding a second eastbound left turn lane to northbound CO 257. Safety improvements include installing new guardrail, roadside delineators, and rumble strips.

Project Benefits

Work Schedule:

• Phased construction from May – November 2023
• Crews will primarily work during daylight hours Monday through Friday
• Night and weekend work are anticipated for several work activities to expedite construction and reduce traffic impacts

Traffic Impacts:

• Expect intermittent lane closures and traffic shifts
• Resurfacing CO 257 between Crossroads Boulevard and Eastman Park Drive will require alternating single lane closures through the end of October. Traffic delays are expected, and drivers should plan ahead.
• CDOT will coordinate work and traffic impacts with adjacent projects. The Town of Windsor will make improvements to the CO 257 / Eastman Park Drive intersection this year. For more information on this project, please visit the town’s web page (windsorprojectconnect.com/257-eastman-construction).
